day 1: feb 6 2010

finally!! a nice break from seattle. i arrived wayy too early for my own good thanks to jetblue-yep, 6 am. WOOT WOOT!! and with just a carry-on, it means i was out of jfk and in the city by 7am. how lovely. after i checked in at the hotel, i waited for coco's arrival in our hotel room, all the while eyeing the expresso bar sign across the street (desperately needed coffee).

once my dear sister arrive, we settled my coffee craving and went on our merry way to moma, where i met my new alien friend (shown above). we went all the way there because the tim burton exhibit was on! what a coinkidink! i would have kicked myself if i didnt go. after thoughts: le burton is a genius, and coco and i both prefer his drawings over the animations. ps. i want one of those drawings...sooooo....muchhhh....

then we took a walk to the columbus circle. icy central park!

and the afternoon ended with a coffee date with some of my dear friends, walk around soho, then dinner for two at the crazily hip thai restaurant in our hotel.

on a side note, i finally "shopped" since the holidays. unbelievable, yeah i know. the thing is, i did so much shopping during the holidays (including holiday presents, wedding gifts+things for myself) that i wanted to reevaluate my expenditure. besides, there are only so many stores in seattle, shopping became a waste of time because i keep seeing the same things. so in the end, i decided to cut off all clothing shopping during january! it worked out very well and i must say nyc is a good place to start shopping again.
